Answer:
1. a) Hugo and his father both have huge interest working on the automaton. They think it is a huge impact to mechanical improvement and also to discover the message that is implant in the automaton.
b) After Hugo's father died, Hugo thought the automaton has the message of his father that left for him, so he tried to fix it to protect the only connection between he and his father.
2. The reason that the notebook is significant to Hugo is because that it is one of the objects that his father left for him. It is also the only resource that can help Hugo to reach his father's message.
George is surprised when he saw the blue print of his old invention that he is trying to forget and started to recall his past memories.\
3. George is one of the person that start the production of movie and has a huge impact to the movie industry. He started the special effect of movie and added plots in the movies.
4. Hugo made the automaton worked by using the heart shaped key and discovered that the person who made it was George.
He made George faced his past by showing his old projects and asked one of George's fans to meet him.
5. Because what the automaton is short of is a heart. George wanted the automaton to function as a human. Also tried to present what he made is alive and as finishing of the automaton.
6. What i like the best is the part of Hugo discovered the heart shaped key on the girl. There is no age limit for this movie, if there is, the movie is suppose to be watched as students or adults or the people liked to think about the meanings behind the movie.
7. a) Hugo is broken because he lost his father when he is young. He fixed himself during he was fixing the automaton and met George. At the end of the story, Hugo was taken into George's family and George cared about him.
b) George couldn't stand the depression of failing his movie business when he was younger, so he chose not to face it, but Hugo helped George by showing his old movie he made and the most important reason is the will of Hugo made George stood up.
c) The inspector is broken because of his broken leg that made him not confident enough to go after a girl, but at the end of the story he finally become more confident to date the girl and broke his loneliness.
